Royals in Romsey

We heard about the Abbey URC photo exhibition as part of the Romsey Platinum Jubilee celebrations as we were preparing to go away for a few days, but just had time to pop in to Romsey to see it before we left.

We were so glad we did – we really enjoyed it and were thrilled to see a picture of the Queen’s visit in June 2007 which included our son, Matthew, in the crowd!  He was the little one with blonde, curly hair and red dungarees, perched on the barrier clutching flowers from our garden. Just after this photo was taken, the Queen stopped to accept his posy!  We remembered the date the day before his 2^nd birthday – a wonderful moment and a fantastic birthday treat.

We didn’t manage to get a photo of Matthew with the Queen on the day so we were overjoyed the photographer was willing to share the image with us.  Please pass our thanks on to the people who organised and manned the exhibition and to the photographer concerned.
